Ania: Animal division of the race of Nintalians.
Aperse: Human division of the race of Nintalians.
At'rik: The Silver-haired, pale-skinned, purple-hued race that originally lived on the planets before the Nintalians found them. They have very long lifespans and age slowly. The oldest At'rik is their Emperor, Ka'chkka, who only looks a little over his 20s even though he is thousands of years old. There was a huge genocide and they were forced to surrender their planets to the Nins. Mostly they now reside on the Sky planet, Heckeiza. They have learned to live together, but it's almost never peaceful between the Nins and At'rik. Even though 200 years have passed since the Nins came, there is still an unbelievable predudice against the At'rik. This is mainly because it is very difficult to tell a Black cross mage from a White cross mage.
At'rik Black Cross Mage: The Yin equivalent of the At'rik race. They bear an unbelievable hatred towards the Nintalians. Have purple eyes.
At'rik White Cross Mage: The Yang equivalent of the At'rik race. They wish for peace between the two races. Have blue eyes.
Befriended Nintalian: Also known as a Bef Nin, Ben, or a Partner. They are a pair of Nintalians who have a special connection, a bond, between them. The pairs consist of an Aperse and an Ania, or a combonation with or of Rikals. The connection is predestined; some call it fate. In NB, the Partners act together as a mini-team and are counted as one player. For example, Lyra and Zila are Bens. Bens can meet at any time in life, and some may never meet at all.
Captain: The title of one who leads an NB team. Also is sometimes called a 'Head Lemaiya'.
Draxaiya: The Water Elemental planet. Very icy and cold in most areas. Almost completely covered in water or ice, and it rains frequently.
Dakaiya: A Nin curse/explicative.
Dark: This element gives the Yin Nins the power over minerals and mind. Founded upon the Earth element, but it has many mysterious and unknown powers. If a Yang gains control of it or even attemps to, it acts as a virus and takes over their mind, turning them Yin...provided they don't go insane first. This is the most powerful of the elements.
Earth (element): This element gives Nins the power to control plants, minerals, and the like. Additionaly it also has power over time and mind, though there was only a small handful of Nins who could properly control that aspect in the history of the race. It would be the most powerful element if it could be fully mastered.
Earth (planet): The planet where the Nintalians decended from. After the merging of the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies chaos erupted and they had to flee the planet. Now existance of Earth and their human ancestors is relatively unknown to the Nins; forgotten in time.
Elements: The Nintalians have the special power to control the various elements. There are 5 different elements; Earth, Water, Fire, Sky, and Dark.
Elemental Energy Reading: The amount of Elemental Energy one possesses; the ability to sense a Nintalian's presence and power. It is usually simply referred to as one's Energy. Most skilled Nins can at least mildly sense anothers' presence, though it is a difficult ability for most.
Emperor (or Empress): The most powerful person on their planet. They are usually of a royal bloodline, supposedly decending from the first Nintalians. Even though they have a high rank, some serve as merely figureheads under the planet's main NB Team Captain.
Evaiya: The Main Yang NB Team of planet Limiak. Second in rank only to Team Konaiya of Draxaiya. A man named Charles is their Captain.
Fate's Tear: The curse that Nintalians who are born in Limbo are forced to live with, even after they choose a side. A tell-tale sign of such a said pariah is if they have a physical feature of changing color. For example: naturally different two-toned colored hair or eyes. The curse is different for most Nins who are born with it. It can be broken, but only by certain means specific to the Nin.
Fire: This element gives Nins the power to control fire and heat. A very strong Physical element.
Fortacia: The 'fort' where NB players live. Depending on the size of the team it could be as small as a house or as large as a city. Communities and towns fan out from it due to the protection it gives.
General: The title given to a former Lemaiya. Generals still offer valued advice to the new Lemaiya, and help them become a strong leader. They have a respected position.
Guardian: A title usually given to a former Lemaiya, they regulate the general efficiency of the city and resident peoples who live in or around the Fortacia. They are the Head of the Crime Prevention and Economy department.
Heckeiza: The Sky Elemental planet. Home planet of the At'rik race as well. Hosts very rocky terrain as well as some strage gravity spots; there are even floating islands on this mountainous planet.
Hetzei: The Fire Elemental planet. Home planet to both Yin and Yang; there is always a vicious war going on at some point on the planet. Very volcanic and dangerous.
Human (race): Very few Nintalians know about their ancestors. They are said to have died out a long time ago on the planet Earth when they turned into the Nintalians.
Human (term): A term given to Nintalians who are born without the ability to learn how to control the elements. Such Nins are looked down upon, even though at this day and age not many are born human.
Jiiya: All Nintalians who are not human are born with a Jiiya, sometimes called a 'concealed weapon'. It is a manifest of themselves that resides within them and is summoned into a weapon by the mind so that they could protect themselves. All Jiiyas are unique to their Nintalians. Nins also use them in order to play NB.
Kabar: The Huge, Boar-like animals that are native to the Nintalian planets. In the wild they can be very brutish and dangerous, but if tamed they could be very helpful. They are mainly used for food and transportaion, but some Nins have a Kabar for their Ben. Bizo's Ben is a Kabar named Tiffy.
Konaiya: The Main Yang NB Team of planet Draxaiya. They are also the Lead team of the entire Yang Nintalian race and hold a very high position. Yana is their current Captain.
Lemaiya: The 'leader' of a section of an NB team. There are usually 4 Lemaiyas, one to each section. Of the 4 there is one Head Lemaiya, or 'Captain', who is in charge of the entire team.
Lieutenant: Usually is another Lemaiya and/or the Captain's Spouse, this person is a close advisor to the Captain. The Lieutenant usually enforces the Captain's orders and regulates the general efficiency of the Fortacia. The Lieutenant is chosen by the Captain during their innaguration ceremony.
Limbo: The stage in between Yin and Yang. These Nins have Silver blood and suffer much mental stress while converting. Those who are Born from a Yang and a Yin are born in Limbo and also suffer the curse of Fate's Tear. They are cast aside in society as a pariah, an outcast, until fate decides their rightful side. This is a stage one must go through to convert from a Yin to a Yang, or vice-versa.
Limiak: The Earth Elemental planet. There are two sides to the planet: the technilogical and the traditional. Home to many large forests and is very tropical in most areas.
Mercenary: Basically, mercenaries are rougue NB Payers for Hire. They hold no true allegiances to a team. They may also be hired for many other skills, and some even turn into assassins. Sakai is probably the most famous mercenary, even though he also resides as Team Sequoiya's Captain, he acts more as an assassin than an NB Player. Yin teams are usually composed of many mercenaries, but some Yang teams have them too.
Never Sane: An incredibly famous inter-planetary-wide known band from Draxaiya, they even have their own popular clothing line! Deneb Lozenge is the lead vocalist, Bassist and main man, with Bizo as the lead Guitarist and Hiu on the Drums.
Nintalians: Race decended from the Humans. They have the power to control the elements. There is a huge division of the race between the evil Yins and the peace-seeking Yangs. An eternal War.
Nintalian Betela: Nicknamed NB, it was formed a long time ago in order to deal with the tensions between the Yin and the Yang. Over time the sport has evolved into the life and culture of the Nins. For more information on how the game is played you can look here.
Raquoiya: The Main Yin NB Team of planet Zios. They are also the Lead team of the entire Yin Nintalian race and hold a superior position. The Yin Emperor is their Captain.
Recruitment Officers: People dispatched to recruit others into an NB team. When a Tournament of Acceptance is being held, they disguise themselves as participants in order to get a better feel for the NB hopefuls. Bizo is the Head of Konaiya's Recruitment Officers, and has an exceptional gift for sensing Energy Levels. The RO's also regulate the Missions and Transportation technicalities.
Rikal: A Mix between the Animal (Ania) Nintalians and the Human (Aperse). Some Rikals have the ability to transform into an Ania or Aperse form, although to be able to transform into an Aperse is slightly more rare. There are many Nintalians who discriminate against them for not being of 'pure' blood. Calling a Rikal a Pet is the highest insult one could give to another Nin.
Section: In a large NB team the Fortacia is divided into 4 Sections, each having their own Lemaiya. The divisions are Land, Sky, Water, and Mixed.
Sequoiya: The Main Yin NB Team of planet Hetzei. Even though they are not the Leading Yin team, they are almost as powerful as Konaiya, if not more. Sakai is their Captain.
Sky: This element gives the Nins the power to control all aspects of the sky such as Wind and the weather. Can also be used to boost one's speed and give them the ability of flight. A very powerful element if fully controlled.
Spells: A somewhat rare art in this day and age of Elemental Abilities. Usually Humans and Earth Elementals are proficient in them. For example, Ember is a gifted Spellcaster even though she was born Human. Spells are spoken in the Ancient Nintalian Language.
Tournament of Acceptance: This Tournament, or Festival, is held once a year usually in the month of July in order to induct new members into an NB team. At this tournament a 1st Apprentice would also be granted the title of Lemaiya if the time was right.
Vernaiya: The Main Yang NB Team of planet Heckeiza. Although, they aren't highly powerful compared to the other Main teams.
Water: This element gives the Nins the power to control water, ice, and some weather.
Yang: The 'good' side of the Nintalian Race, if you could really call them good per se. They are the most like their Human ancestors and do have some bad people among them as well. Yangs have Red blood. They are by nature 'weaker' than the Yins.
Yin: The 'bad' side of the Nintalian Race. Vicious and psychotic, they are the purest form of evil. At least, a large portion of them are. There are some communities on the Yin planets where some more placid Yins reside. Yins have Black blood. They are by nature more powerful than the Yangs.
Zen: A name for the Nintalian currency. A Zen is comparitive to around $10. This is the only amount that has a special name.
Zios: The Dark Elemental planet. It is said that the sun never shines on this dismal planet of death. Home to the bulk of the Yin race. No Yang would ever dare set foot on this dangerous place.
